Songwriter/Producer at NYMRAK Studios & Publishing
1999 - PresentA poem that I wrote when I was 12 years old called "Almost 13" got published in Teen Magazine. Already being a singer, I began writing more prose and poetry that eventually turned into songs. I learned to record on a cassette tape and my love for recording began. In 2006, I accidentally uploaded a cover tune from my debut album to the Podsafe Music Network (now Music Alley). It (my version of Gershwin's Summertime) got picked up by Adam Curry's Daily Source Code Podcast. He encouraged me to put my original material up so, I got busy and wrote and produced 2 songs with my then music partner C. Meeks: Drifting and I'll Be There (On Christmas Day). That same year I recorded additional vocals for the Podsafe Music Christmas album. While in Burbank, I wrote, produced and sang two additional songs: Forbidden Love and Love Me So. Here is a list of my specific experience. -Grammy Nominated Vocalist with arranger C. Owner/Teacher/Mentor at Karmyn Tyler's Vocal Studio
1998 - PresentIn 1998, I began teaching and coaching vocalists. I have taught privately as well as for First United Methodist Music School in Texarkana, Arkansas. My current studio is located in Washington Heights in New York City. I have the honor of working with some amazing students in my studio including, American Idol finalist Rachel Hale, Singer/Song writer Sara Skinner, Actress Molly Quinn, Actor John R Colley, Ark-La-Tex's country star, Klancy Johnson, singer/actress Tara Clem and many, many more. I am dedicated to helping people explore their vocal talents and skills in the entertainment field. My focus centers on treating your entire body - not only your voice - as a tool for performance. This not only includes lessons for voice (speaking & singing) but career and life coaching. In performance often your body will want to work against itself. You muscles become tense, you over think, and worry. My motivation is to help you move to a place where you can over come your insecurities and fears by giving you an understanding of vocal production and its connection to your body and mind. My desire is to lead you to being your best. Here are some examples of how I can help: increasing vocal range, proper breathing techniques, body alignment, supported sound, conquer performance anxiety, stage presence, song interpretation, college preparation, smart goal setting, increased creativity, and positive internal reprogramming. Here are specific areas of interest: -Developed proven vocal techniques in collaboration with Dallas vocal teacher/composer William Bauer -Special training in child vocal pedagogy with Scott McCoy, DMA (NATS) -Strong background in IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) -Successfully coordinate and record live streaming vocal lessons -Lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity at Centenary College -Member National Association of Teachers of Singing -Member National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy's)
